The master mind behind Vintage Flow and #Problematic, chopped getWETCity to find out what really good with hip hop scene in Seattle and where he fits in to the whole mix.
Logics reps for the town and Vegas, what is home base?
Home base is pretty much any place I have Fam at. Never really had a first place to call home. I was a military brat born in Lawton/Ft Sill, Ok then moved to Newport News, Va for the first part of my years. I moved to Las Vegas when I was in the 8th grade where I attended high school. I joined the Air Force in 03 where I got stationed in Tacoma/Seattle in 04 and that’s when the scene started first seeing me.
What is the must have in the studio?
Vitamin water, Sour patch kids, a dope beat and a real homie (no dick riders) so they can tell you if the stuff your recording is actually good.
What is success for your?
Success for me isn’t fame and it isn’t even wealth. It’s comfortability, if you can’t even survive off a day to day with your income that’s not success but in the same having thousands of dollars doing something that makes you can’t sleep at night that’s not success, it’s a balance of livin a well balanced life, to me that’s success.
Do you see your self as player in the northwest hip hop game or leading the path?
I was a player in the game but I stopped running on the same court as everybody else, everybody wants to be the man on the court I focus on shooting the ball correctly. To answer your question I feel like a leader because nobody has the lane I chose, with my curse of not having a single base gives me the gift to move out of state. It Makes me ambidextrous.
When did you start taking being an artist serious?
2006 when I first started noticing the artists I was pushing wasn’t able to move like me or stay consistent like me. I always rapped but becoming a recording artist is a whole different animal. I didn’t really start getting noticed till 09 so maybe 09 lol I don’t know I just do it.
From #Problematic to Vintage Flow, how did you change your approach from one project to the next?
Problematic was more of an intro to me, I’m known to be spastic and crazy, on the other end I have a love for old school hiphop. I pretty much dug old school-like beats and made Vintage Flow. I’m a vintage head because things back then were made better anyways I.e Jordans, polos, gear. It was more handcrafted instead of industrialized. Hence Vintage flow
Craziest thing a fan has ever done?
Invite me to her house because her mom thought I was sexy and wanted me to stay the night
