Jean Grea- I Rock On by getWETCITY
It was Wednesday afternoon when I made my way to Kicks and Tees. There were a couple people inside all waiting for the same thing I was. Jean Grea, the talent. I had no idea how much so until I finally sat down next to her. From listening to her mixtape Cookies or Comas hosted by DJ Drama I knew I had my hands full in the personality department. But the music I had been listening to just gave me a good vibe on what was about to happen. Beside being dope Jean Grea straddles the line between mainstream and underground, effortlessly. But why stop off in Seattle, with her brand of music, why else PROMO for her next album “Cake or Death” due out fall. But she didn’t pick a release date for a reason.
Jean Grea is a style all her own and a personality to match. And the part yal missed is how she was going to purposely throw off the questions. I mean that is not what you expect an artist to say when you first meet them, but that quick little convo gave me a small glimpse into what I was going to find out during my interview.
With the interview in the bag, on way back to the job. All I could think was did I just get interview or a chance to kick it with Jean Grea. But next on my mind was the show…..What I notices at Jean Grae’s Show
Many Thanks, to Toy Box Inc, Kicks and Tees, and of course the Diabolical Jeanius Jean Grae.
